What a treat, I met this lovely family recently when they were in town from SF visiting Grandma. We corresponded on creating a generational image with a more contemporary look. Sarah's inspiration was the image of her mother "the baby" in the vintage portrait. Although we would have loved to have used a home setting, we decided due to low light challenges at Grandma's, that using the natural studio light would flatter better.(I don't know how those babies stayed still for those long exposures back then. Thank goodness for ISO's about 400 !!!)
With a nod to the past, I was happily surprised to see miss blue eyes dressed in a lovely vintage christening gown looking straight out of the early century. While we created a variety of images of Grandma, Mom and baby daughter, we then turned to our more contemporary look of this sweet 9mth old with our beautiful north light window. Throughout our session she was quite the trooper and was perfectly content for our extended portrait session where we photographed a variety of combos with family, parents, Mom and baby alone. She was a peach, must be in her genes….
I feel so lucky to be able to create images that families will pass on to their children and grandchildren. Thank you Sarah and Peter for contacting me and bringing your wonderful family to my studio.
