Seattle Photographer Captures Stylish Senior Portrait Sparkler in Pioneer Square. Although I photographed this session ago, I just came across these images and had to share her fabulous style.
For every session whether it be seniors or family photography, I spend ample time consulting about the logistics for the day. We take into account clothing, hair styles, locations, time of day and even their school workload, so a big event won’t throw us off-course for the session. In M’s case, they made my job easy as they came prepared with clothing and hair choices and the locations fell into place when we all agreed on shooting in Pioneer Square as it provided a variety of backgrounds to photograph. They also carefully planned outfits to accentuate body shapes as well as use highlighting colors to really make the images pop. She came with at least three outfits and though we often don’t use more than three its a good idea in case one of them just won’t really come across in a portrait well. I just love the melon blazer and how her canary yellow dress just fit so well and sashayed in just the right way.
One thing I can’t count on is how responsive each person will be in their session. Maybe their uncomfortable with smiling for the camera, or feel a little akward posing. With M. she warmed up right away, I gave her a few tips about turning her head and how to hold her hands, but other than that, she was a natural.
